Full Life-cycle Testing / Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT)
Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) verifies that the system verifies that the system can be installed and supported in the production environment.
Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) is typically performed in a pre-production environment using the exact version and configuration of software that will be deployed into production.
- Re-use of existing test assets wherever possible to verify integrity of installation, restored systems, etc
- Collaborative approach with operations team
- Accurate timings of installation, backup and recovery procedures for deployment planning
- Verify installation packages and procedures work correctly
- Verify back-up and recovery procedures all work
- Ensure deployment and scheduled back-ups will fit into available window of time
