Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) verifies that the system verifies that the system can be installed and supported in the production environment.

Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) is typically performed in a pre-production environment using the exact version and configuration of software that will be deployed into production.

• Re-use of existing test assets wherever possible to verify integrity of installation, restored systems, etc
• Collaborative approach with operations team
• Accurate timings of installation, backup and recovery procedures for deployment planning
  

• Verify installation packages and procedures work correctly
• Verify back-up and recovery procedures all work
• Ensure deployment and scheduled back-ups will fit into available window of time
